Ward attenders are patients, who are not currently in-patients, who attend a ward for treatment by nursing staff. Examples are maternity patients undergoing monitoring or surgical patients attending to have stitches removed. Patients seeing a doctor on a ward for examination or treatment would be counted as outpatient attendances. Figures are submitted annually on form KH05 by each NHS Trust.
