Day Care Attendances
This overview is intended to aid understanding and interpretation of the figures and should not be considered as definitive guidance. Full definitions of published data items, including guidance for data suppliers, are available in the Data Manual and Data Dictionary.

Total attendances is the number of attendances at NHS day care facilities. NHS day care facilities provide services such as rehabilitation and therapy and will include intermediate care services. NHS day care does not provide residential or in-patient facilities although patients who are in-patients at the hospital may attend day care facilities during the day. Figures are submitted annually on form KH14 by each NHS Trust. Figures are sub-divided into first attendances and total attendances for each specilaty grouping.
