Statistics from Q1 2008-09 onwards are now available from the new DH website.

Historical data for the financial years 1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-00 and 2000-01 can be viewed in the browser. The critical care census started in March 1999 and so is only available from then.

If you are not familiar with the data, then the 'Hospital Activity Summary' page for England is a good place to start, and the 'About Data' section will provide you with an introduction to each of the tables on the website.
