Rates of admission to mental illness specialty care are highest in the older age groups.  
The highest rates are for men aged 85 & over (13.2 per 1,000 population in 2000-01).  
In younger age groups, rates of admission tend to be higher for men than women.  
Figures for 2001-02 have not yet been adjusted for shortfalls in data
