Figures represent children who ceased to be looked after in the year, where "adopted" was given as the reason that care ceased.

Figures for looked after children in this table exclude children who were accommodated under an agreed series of short-term placements.

Period of care refers to a continuous period of being looked after, which may include more than one placement or legal status.
